Facebook is set to take centre stage at the 2026 African Creators Summit (ACS), bringing immersive, on-ground experiences aimed at empowering Africa’s fast-growing creator economy. Scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, the summit will convene creators, storytellers, innovators, and digital entrepreneurs from across the continent. One of Africa’s leading creator-focused gatherings, ACS will run under the theme “Building a Sustainable Ecosystem Where Africa Trades Its Swag.” The theme closely aligns with Facebook’s mission to support creators through tools that enhance monetisation, discovery, audience growth, and community building.
According to Oluwasola Obagbemi, Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, Facebook is focused on helping creators thrive within the communities they already serve, while unlocking opportunities to reach global audiences and generate income across multiple content formats (Obagbemi, 2026). At the event, Facebook will host a branded booth featuring interactive experiences designed to foster collaboration and authentic connection among creators, young adults, and Nigerian celebrities. These activations will reinforce Facebook’s role as a platform for meaningful relationships and large-scale community engagement across Africa.
ACS Convener Oladapo Adewunmi emphasised that creators are shaping modern culture and economic growth, describing Facebook’s continued support as a strong endorsement of African creativity as a driver of global impact. As Facebook continues to evolve across Groups, Video, and Marketplace, its presence at ACS underscores its commitment to a sustainable, inclusive Pan-African creative ecosystem.
